Traffic Safety from MPD Annual Report

MPD dedicated one page of a 56-page report to “Traffic Safety:”

Significantly, the top says:

Fatalities, 2005–2009
Forty-eight percent of the traffic fatalities in the District of Columbia have involved pedestrians. Pedestrian and total fatalities have dropped significantly since 2007.

(emphasis mine.)

A search for the words “bicycle” and “cyclist” in the report came up empty. “Bike” and “Cycle” were both found, but in relation to officer transportation and stolen vehicles.

The full report can be found on MPD’s site.
